Who are we? We are NeuroNYC, and our mission is to cultivate the neurotech community within the NYC area. We bring together founders, researchers, clinicians, investors, operators, artists, and policymakers across the entire neurotech ecosystem, spanning BCIs, neuromodulation, digital health, AI-driven neuroscience, and more.
Our goal is simple: build a high-signal, human-scale community that helps neurotech move from the lab to real-world impact.

NeuroNYC x Precision Neuroscience Recap: Over 100 researchers, operators and neurotech enthusiasts joined us last Thursday for an evening on building a career in BCI. Precision’s Chief People Officer Joel Greengrass shared his path into the field and advice on networking and interviewing with intention, followed by a panel with Olivia Conroy, Jake Sabia and Eva Larsen, moderated by Jeremy Zadek. Thank you to Brown Rudnick LLP for hosting, the Precision team for their candor, Patricia Fernandez and Jeremy Zadek for partnering with us, and our organizers Ana Radanovic, Gelana Tostaeva and our volunteers.

🗽 Neurotech News in NYC:
Ackman Oxman Institute (AOI): Bill Ackman and Neri Oxman have launched the Ackman Oxman Institute (AOI), a Manhattan nonprofit focused on brain research, neurosurgery, rehabilitation and longevity, seeded with roughly $400M in Pershing Square stock and housed in a 400,000-square-foot biotech facility on West End Avenue. With BCIs, device development and human trials in scope, plus its own venture arm, it’s one to watch for the NYC translational pipeline. Read more here.
Mount Sinai: A Nature study led by Renata Batista-Brito at the Icahn School of Medicine identified an extremely rare population of cortical neurons that can synchronize activity across the brain and actively promote sleep, challenging the century-old view that sleep is driven only by deep brain structures. NYU Langone (neurofeedback for PTSD): NYU Langone, the only U.S. site in the pivotal trial behind Prism’s FDA clearance, now offers the amygdala-targeted EEG neurofeedback device to PTSD and depression patients and is running further studies in adults, adolescents and ADHD. Read more here.
OpenBCI joins AWEAR: Brooklyn-based OpenBCI has come on as an investor and partner in AWEAR, a startup building brain-wellbeing technology. Read more here.
